All information up to date as of October 21st, 2021

Protective Measures

  • We’re limiting the number of customers allowed in our stores to help everyone keep a 6-foot distance.
  • We’re providing our associates with gloves, face masks and face shields, and we’ve installed protective plastic barriers at all cash registers, pharmacies and service counters.

Keeping Things Clean

  • Our associates are wiping down self-service locations and checkout areas with disinfectant frequently. This includes the belts and PIN pads at our registers.
  • We’re making disinfecting wipes available near store entrances for use on carts, hand baskets and Scan It! devices.
  • We’ve amplified cleaning efforts in our store parking lots, providing a safe place for customers to dispose of their gloves and masks with additional trash receptacles.

The One-Way Way

  • We’ve instituted one-way aisles in all of our stores to assist in proper social distancing.
  • We’ve added social distancing “lane markings” around the checkouts in our stores to help customers maintain safe distances.

No More Samples

  • We’ve temporarily closed down many service components including our hot bar, wing bar, olive bar, and salad bar. Pre-packaged items are now available as an alternative.
  • We’ve closed all seating areas and discontinued café operations.
  • We’ve suspended our food sampling programs and community solicitation until further notice.

Here’s How You Can Help

If you’re planning to shop in our stores, here are a few things we can all do to better protect one another.

Shop Solo

Whenever possible, we ask that you shop alone so we are able to limit the number of people in stores. If you’re sick, stay home and send a family member/friend to the store instead. We also offer Pickup and Home Delivery in many areas. Please click here to check availability in your zip code.

Keep Your Distance

Wash your hands before and after shopping, wear a mask in store, and remain 6 feet apart from others. Also use self checkout, Scan It!, and contactless payment methods when possible.

Be Mindful Of Others

Buy only what you need, and avoid buying too many products that are in high demand.

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time. We will be updating this site on a regular basis to keep everyone informed of changes.

Stop & Shop is in compliance with the State of Rhode Island's mandate for Seasonal COVID-19 Control plans, which outline how the business will prevent the spread of COVID-19 during the holiday shopping season.
